    Seems very sturdy

    I never played rugby but I like the style of rugby jerseys -- perfect blend of preppy and tough. I've worn rugby shirts from clothing retailers like Land's End and decided to upgrade to the real thing. My Barbarian rugby shirt makes everything else I've worn seem like cheap imitations.

    The cotton is thick and heavy, and the fabric isn't as soft or smooth as a "casual" rugby shirt. It's clearly made for field wear and it feels like it should hold up for a long time. I particularly like the sharp collar, almost like a dress shirt spread collar. I ordered the solid maroon color, very handsome and more understated without the attention-grabbing stripes. I'll be ordering the bottle green soon. Time to start replacing my rugby shirt wardrobe. These aren't cheap but if it holds up for many years then I consider it a good investment.

    For reference, I'm 5'10, 165 lbs, athletic build, and the medium size is just right, roomy enough for layering without being baggy worn on its own. I initially followed the advice here to size up and got a large, and it was too big.
